D. Michael Allen

D. Michael Allen began his legal career as a litigator in Bloomington, Indiana. He continued to develop case handling skills and gained substantial trial experience while working as a litigation counsel in the corporate law department of a large insurance company. He further refined his litigation skills practicing with a law firm in Southern California representing contractors, retailers, hotels, landlords, and other businesses in premises liability and large-loss insurance cases. After returning to Indiana, Mike joined Mallor Clendening Grodner & Bohrer and expanded his practice area to include business transactional work. While he still assists with construction and insurance cases, Mike now focuses primarily on business law.

Mike provides a wide variety of businesses, including technology startups, restaurants, automobile dealerships, entertainment venues, retailers, and manufacturers, with counsel and advice in both litigation and transactional matters. He also assists a number of businesses as their outside general counsel. Mike particularly enjoys the energy associated with startup culture and works closely with several entrepreneurs developing new companies and establishing new lines of business.

Mike earned both his undergraduate and his law degree from Indiana University--Bloomington. He has been licensed to practice law in Indiana since 2000 and in California since 2004.  Mike is also admitted to practice in the federal courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and for the Central District of California.
